Photoshop n'est pas un outil très intuitif et simple d'utilisation, c'est pour cela qu'il est important dans un premier temps de se former pour connaître le fonctionnement et savoir utiliser les outils. Illustrator est un logiciel d'illustration qui permet de créer des images vectorielles. Il peut être utilisé totalement indépendamment de Photoshop, comme il peut être en complément de Photoshop. Ce logiciel est à la fois adapté à la création de documents destinés à l'impression comme des brochures, flyers, plaquette, logo.mais également pour des documents pour le web. Le point fort de l'image vectorielle réside dans le fait qu'elle ne subit pas de perte de qualité quand on l'agrandit. Le zoom peut être utilisé à l'infini, cela n'impactera pas la qualité de l'image. Ce procédé s'adapte donc à tous les formats. L'autre avantage est la netteté des lignes obtenues. C'est sur ce point qu'Illustrator est incontournable. Et c'est très important pour des fichiers liés à l'impression. InDesign est plus un logiciel de mise en page. C'est vraiment la fonctionnalité que l'on ne retrouve pas sur les 2 autres outils. En effet, le logiciel permet la mise en page de document de manières plus complexes et créatives que Photoshop et Illustrator. Tout est réalisé pour optimiser des mises en page professionnelles. Vous pouvez ainsi faire du traitement de texte créatif et allier le texte avec le design. En revanche l'outil ne permet pas de retouche visuelle ou de création même d'image.
