Overview

Leadership is often talked about in terms of skills but I believe it is much more than that. Effective leadership is a mindset and a set of positive and supportive behaviours. This course is about the things you can do to become an effective leader. In this course I cover what it means to be a leader and what you can do to become the leader you aspire to be. We cover the difference between leadership and management and the three key roles of a leader. The course also covers the seven behaviours of effective leaders, and explores why effective leaders need effective followers. The course also looks at the characteristics of toxic leaders - those individuals in positions of power that do not enact the behaviours of effective leaders. In the final lesson I cover the six practical steps you can take to become the leader you aspire to be, and how to gain experience as a leader and practice the behaviours.The course is practical and accessible and aimed at anyone already in a leadership position and wishing to improve their effectiveness, and those aspiring to be leaders in the future and wanting to be ready when the opportunity arises.
