Here are the basic steps to print on t-shirts using HTV vinyl:Design Your Artwork: Start by creating or selecting the design you want to print on the t-shirt. You can use graphic design software like Adobe Illustrator or free online tools like Canva. Make sure your design is the right size and orientation for your t-shirt.Mirror the Design: When working with HTV, it's crucial to reverse or mirror your design horizontally before cutting it. This is because you'll be applying the vinyl face-down on the shirt, and the mirrored image will transfer correctly when pressed.Cut the HTV Vinyl: Use a cutting machine (e.g., a Cricut or Silhouette) to cut the HTV vinyl according to your design. Be sure to load the vinyl with the shiny side down (the adhesive side) and the dull side up.Weed the Design: After cutting, you need to weed out the excess vinyl around your design. This is done using a weeding tool to remove the parts of the vinyl that you don't want on the shirt, leaving only your design.Preheat the Heat Press or Iron: If you have a heat press, set it to the recommended temperature for your specific HTV vinyl type (usually around 320-350°F or 160-180°C). If you're using an iron, set it to the cotton setting without steam.Position and Secure the Design: Place your t-shirt on a flat surface and position the weeded HTV design face-down on the fabric where you want it to appear. Be cautious when doing this to avoid damaging the vinyl or the shirt.Final Press: Some HTV vinyl types may require a final press for a few seconds with a protective sheet or parchment paper to ensure a secure bond.Let It Cool: Allow the shirt to cool completely before wearing or washing it.
