El funcionamiento de la aplicación, descansa fundamentalmente en el manejo de la variable de tiempo y su interacción con la variable de costo a través de la asignación de recursos a las tareas. Dentro de todas las funciones disponibles en el MS Project, está asignación, es tal vez la más crítica, por no decir la más importante.
