This course introduces you to the tools and strategies to help prepare you as you navigate the workplace as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.While simply living as a member of the queer community can come with its own challenges, navigating the workforce as a lesbian, gay, transgender, or other non-traditional identity can present a very specific set of obstacles and tricky situations.Have you found yourself questioning whether or not you're safe to come out to your coworkers?Have you experienced unconscious bias, microaggressions, or even verbal harassment at your job due to one or more of your identities?Do you find yourself craving a more open-minded, inclusive workspace?To help you traverse these waters, this course covers:Evaluating your work environment objectively to gauge how ready they are to accept your and your identityTips and suggestions to consider when creating a coming out planManaging negative interactions and coping with confronting challenges in the workplaceStrategies for creating inclusive work environments and communities that YOU want to be a part ofProcesses to leverage your identity when building your professional network, creating community, and growing professionallyA look at some historic milestones and challenges the LGBTQ+ community has faced over the years both in the US and globally
