Overview

In this course, examine all the core concepts of Kafka. Developed at LinkedIn, Apache Kafka is a distributed streaming platform that provides scalable, high-throughput messaging systems in place of traditional messaging systems like JMS. In this course we're going to take a look at the essentials for Apache Kafka. We'll begin with by showing you how all the pieces fit together, then we'll take a look at the architecture, some of the common operational tasks, and what all the different components do. We'll finish by running some workflows on a local machine, including setting up a fault-tolerant cluster and doing some real-time stream processing of data. We'll be covering all these topics and more to get you up to speed with Apache Kafka.
