Overview

This course introduces the basics ofprogramming for the web using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.This is a beginners course that teaches students how to buildthe visual and interactive components of a website. Studentslearn how to create the structural foundation of a site(HTML), style it (CSS), and add logic to control the behaviour(JavaScript) of their website. Students gain an understandingof how the web works and customize their sites using theirown designs and ideas. By the end of this course, studentsshould be able to:‣ Explain how the web works‣ Create the structure and style of a website using HTMLand CSS‣ Apply interactivity to a site using programmingfundamentals in JavaScript‣ Host a website on a server‣ Know the basic technical vocabulary to communicatewith front-end web developers
