Overview

The course is divided into three parts: a first part consisting of 25 lessons with as many dialogues on topics of travel and everyday life. Each dialogue is preceded by a picture of a characteristic place in France with a two-line description, the description will be expanded in the pdf of the lesson. These dialogues are supplemented by explanations, again in French, of a lexical or grammatical nature. In addition to the dialogue part, each lesson has a part A of video exercises entitled "vrai ou faux" or "choisissez", to check your understanding, and a part B with repetition and memorisation exercises. There are also written exercises on pdf.The second part, which is closely linked to the first, is entitled "800 mots français", where you will learn and use 800 words of the French language in both oral and written form, divided into 20 topics: at the hotel, in the restaurant, meat or fish, legumes and vegetables, fruit, food, our body part 1, our body part 2, visiting Paris and France, the hairdresser/barber, the chemist, means of transport, around the city, travelling, shopping, the doctor, the bar, at home, clothing, accessories. This second part comes with 10 multiple choice tests to check your learning; one test every two lessons on 10 words from the previous lessons but placed in a different context."800 mots français" is not a lexicon with the French word on one side and the English word on the other. Each word is inserted into a sentence that can be a definition of the word, a curiosity or a quotation from some famous person. These phrases are translated into English on the screen."Manger à la française" was born from the observation of the difficulties encountered by foreigners in understanding the dishes offered to them in restaurants and food stores.
