If want to set yourself apart in your profession, CMA delivers.The CMA exam has 2 Parts with 6 Sections each covering topics relevant to Management Accounting:Part Two: Strategic Financial ManagementDecision analysis: 25% of the exam focuses on this topicFinancial statement analysis: 20%Corporate finance: 20%Professional ethics: 15%Risk management: 10%Investment decisions: 10%Each Part of the CMA exam contains two segments:100 multiple-choice questions - 3 hours2 essay/written-response scenarios in - 1 hourCMA Exam Dates Quick FactsThe CMA exam is offered three times per year during two-month CMA test windows.CMA exam windows are January/February, May/June, and September/October.You schedule your CMA exam with IMA testing partner Prometric.The CMA exam can be taken in-person at a Prometric testing center or remotely using Prometric's ProProctor service.If needed, you can easily reschedule your exam through the Prometric website.There is a $50 rescheduling/cancellation fee for changing your exam appointment 3-30 days prior to the original appointment date.Preparing for the exam with a CMA review course can increase your chances of passing the first time.Based on the difficulty of the questions randomly selected for your exam and the number of questions that you got correct you are given a "scaled score" between 0 and 500. A 360 score is required to pass the exam.Note: 360 does NOT translate to 72%. It is simply a score and not a percentage of anything.Candidates receive exam results via email about six weeks after the month in which the exam was taken.Once you have your CMA certification, you must maintain your IMA membership and earn 30 hours of CPE every year. You can earn CPE by attending webinars, many of which are free. Failure to maintain your membership and CPE will result in your removal from the IMA's records of certified members.
