Overview

Study Mandarin with a prestige university - the University of Edinburgh teacher, learn Chinese in a more structured way. This course aims to build up skills in listening and speaking, while focusing on everyday life expression and paving a solid path to living abroad in China. In this course, language skills will be improved through a series of graded steps, covering grammar, vocabulary, and day-to-day knowledge of life in China. After the course, you will be able to express your views and opinions on varied topics by participating in listening and speaking activities; you will also be able to understand how Chinese grammar works and be able to apply these skills in listening and speaking up to intermediate level. You will be offered 20 recorded lectures, 20 downloadable PDF handouts and 10 audio files, 10 topic related quizzes, as well as you will have free access to the teacher's Quizlet account to practice vocabulary and more. At the end of every 5 lessons, you will have a 'Practice test' to test your learning progress. After this course, you will be able to learn all essential vocabulary and texts about 10 different topics, including shopping, eating at a restaurant, asking directions, taking public transportation, traveling by trains, renting an apartment, asking for a favour, hotel booking, discussing a traveling plan at Chinese travel agency, and airport check-in.
