DEFINITION OF CHEMISTRYIn general, Chemistry can be define as a science subject which deals with the study of properties and the uses of matter.WHAT IS MATTER? Matter is any thing that have mass and can occupy space.But then, chemistry class should be presented to students in such a way they will understand it better. This is what I discovered in my years of teaching and research experience.Years ago i encountered experience with some chemistry students in a full school. When I walked into a Home Economics laboratory where they were offering some classes on how to cook some foods. Then, I asked a students to bring sodium chlorine to add to the food. They where all surprised. Thinking I wanted to harm them. That sodium chloride is poisonous. Statistically, 95% of students failed. They all learnt for the very first time the cooking salt which is the normal salt is what they see or hear almost everyday in chemistry classroom.A good logical approach will make students to find chemistry easier.
