In today's world, where conflicts, biased media, influencers and organizations, uninformed opinions, disinformation, propaganda, hatred, etc. are shaping our thoughts and perceptions, we need wisdom more than ever before. We need to be able to distinguish right from wrong and true from false. But in order to do that, one also needs to get to know oneself better. Understanding others and their words and information often goes hand in hand with understanding oneself. We can't know what is right or true if the wrong and the false inside us are clouding our judgment. For this reason, this course not only delves into critical thinking but also fosters our social-emotional intelligence.This is an English-spoken course, including 7 hours and 36 minutes of video lessons, 12 quizzes and 15 assignments.Course content:Lesson 1 - How to discuss and receive informationThis lesson focuses on the differences between facts and opinions, active and passive listening, fallacious arguments, types of questions, and more.Lesson 2 - How to understand the human mindThis lesson focuses on emotions, egoism, fear, desire, defense mechanism, social frame of reference, and more.Lesson 3 - How to handle criticismThis lesson focuses on the differences between constructive and destructive criticism, freedom of speech, hate speech, assertiveness, and more.Lesson 4 - How to recognize and differentiate bias-related topicsThis lesson focuses on stereotypes, racism, discrimination, prejudice, and more.Lesson 5 - How to get to know yourself and gain confidenceThis lesson focuses on the importance of knowing yourself, self-esteem, self-image, self-confidence, and more.Lesson 6 - How to be ethicalThis lesson focuses on values, principles, ethics, morals, and more.Lesson 7 - How to empathize with others and handle difficult emotionsThis lesson focuses on the differences between empathy, sympathy and compassion, difficult emotions such as anger and hate, and more.Please noteThe video lessons are presented in a PowerPoint-like format, so it may be helpful to take notes during the lessons.
