This certification is aimed at Salesforce customers, partners, and employees who wish to validate their expertise in promoting core architecture concepts such as modularity, reusability, and the development of future-proof components throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) across all layers, including client, server, and Content Delivery Network (CDN). Credential holders are expected to advise development teams on B2C Commerce best practices during the SDLC to implement high-performing and efficiently scaling sites, design storefront integrations that effectively utilize available data and technologies, and apply standard design patterns to support multiple brands, internationalization, and various channels like mobile and tablet.A Salesforce Certified B2C Commerce Architect typically holds a B2C Commerce Developer certification and possesses over five years of e-commerce experience. They have technical team leadership experience and are familiar with integrating retail IT systems such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Order Management Systems (OMS), Product Information Management (PIM), and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Their experience includes designing the architecture for multiple full-cycle Commerce Cloud implementations, with at least one being a new project following the Site Readiness Assessment (SRA) process. They are knowledgeable about the performance and security measures of the Salesforce B2C Commerce (SFCC) platform, as well as compliance requirements relevant to e-commerce. Additionally, they are familiar with the Storefront Reference Architecture (SFRA), understand the SDLC, and have expertise in the SFCC platform and its features, including system and custom objects, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and analytics capabilities. They also possess a basic understanding of Domain Name System (DNS)-related principles and terminology.Key responsibilities of a Salesforce Certified B2C Commerce Architect include architecting or designing solutions for multi-site and multi-region implementations, designing interfaces between systems, gathering and defining technical requirements based on business needs, advising on data and code replication schedules, creating high-level estimates, designing and scheduling integration jobs, configuring and deploying builds, creating visual representations of complex system interactions, performing code reviews, preparing technical artifacts such as technical specifications and proofs of concept, applying SFCC best practices related to security and performance, and configuring eCDN.Typical job roles for candidates pursuing this credential include Technical Lead, Solution Architect, Senior Developer, Technical Director, and Owner of Technical Design and Quality Implementations. The certification exam consists of 60 multiple-choice or multiple-select questions, with up to five additional non-scored questions. Candidates have 105 minutes to complete the exam, which allows time for the unscored questions. The passing score is 65%, and the registration fee is USD $400, plus applicable taxes as required by local law. The retake fee is $200, plus applicable taxes. The exam is proctored and can be taken onsite at a testing center or in an online environment. No hard-copy or online materials may be referenced during the exam. A prerequisite for this exam is the Salesforce Certified B2C Commerce Developer credential. When evaluating questions and answers, candidates should consider all currently available features, including those in both Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic. As of November 16, 2017, some Salesforce Certification exams include up to five additional, randomly placed, unscored questions to gather data on question performance. The duration of each exam has been adjusted to accommodate these unscored questions, which are in addition to the 60 scored questions and have no impact on the candidate's score.Exam OutlineThe Salesforce Certified B2C Commerce Architect exam measures a candidate's knowledge and skills related to the objectives listed here.
