This final course is designed to integrate and apply all the concepts learned throughout the certificate program, culminating in the creation of a mobile app and a responsive website that focuses on social good. It's not just about the design—this course emphasizes empathy, understanding user needs, and crafting a portfolio that can help you land your first job in the field. **Course Syllabus** The syllabus is thoughtfully structured around three key components that guide students through the design process while simultaneously preparing them for the job market: 1. **Design for Social Good and Strengthen Your Portfolio**: The course kicks off with an exploration of design principles across devices. This foundational knowledge empowers you to create user-centered designs that truly meet the needs of the target audience. The course encourages learners to start a portfolio project, where you will engage in the vital phases of the design process: empathizing with users, defining their pain points, and ideating solutions through sketches and competitive audits. 2. **Build a Professional Presence**: With UX design being a high-growth field, the course emphasizes the significance of building a strong portfolio and establishing a personal brand. You will learn strategies for showcasing your work effectively, which is essential in standing out among other candidates. This module also covers the value of online presence and how it can enhance your job application efforts. 3. **Finding a UX Job**: The final portion of the course is dedicated to job search strategies for new UX designers. You’ll receive guidance on refining your portfolio and preparing for various aspects of the UX interview process. This includes creating an elevator pitch, acing phone screens, and mastering portfolio presentations.
